AFB1 — Oryza sativa Japonica
Summary
OsAFB1 (also known as TIR1, GRH1, and AFB1-5) on rice chromosome 3 encodes an F-box and leucine-rich repeat-containing protein with auxin receptor activity, auxin binding, NEDD8 transferase activity, and multiple transporter activities including auxin influx and efflux. It is associated with the nuclear SCF ubiquitin ligase complex. In rice, OsAFB1 has been linked to defense, drought and salt stress responses, phosphate homeostasis, tillering, growth, development, and flowering. It is also associated with resistance traits and auxin-related processes. Related genes in other species are linked to grain yield, grain width and length, leaf blast disease response, root architecture, and herbicide sensitivity. Associations with seedling morphology, phototropism, floral organ number, and biomass yield have also been reported.
